Young Internet Tycoon On Self Confidence
So the past couple posts I have spoken about not wasting time. So lets say you take all my advice and are working hard and diligently. Now becoming a young internet tycoon isn't easy. You can work as hard as you want and still come up short. What good is a lead if when you call them you never close a deal? Many people will tell you it is a numbers game, and it is, but at the same time you shouldn't be talking to 500 people and not getting even one yes.
This boils down to self confidence. Believe it or not, those prospects you call on the phone can feel you on the other end. If your voice breaks up and you sound nervous, they will not join with you. Especially since they could very easily go and find someone else in your opportunity to join with. You are selling yourself online and you need to be confident because of that.
Now how do you gain that confidence? That's a tough question to answer. Everyone is different, but receiving training on how to speak to people is essential. If you can find a program with interact prospecting practice with leaders that would be great. Just listening to people prospect won't be enough, you have to interact yourself. The more you are on the phone working your skills, the better they will improve.
I know for me personally this is the hardest thing for me to do. Getting out of the comfort zone is the only way I will succeed though, so I have no choice. I can remember the first times I prospected and how nervous I was. I had a script and I read off of it verbatim. That was not a good script and my results showed. It is good to have guidelines in order to keep yourself on track, but at the same time you want to have a conversation with the person.
A confident person will be able to find out what the other person needs. They aren't attached to the sale and know they are there to help the prospect, not the other way around. If you control the conversation and have power throughout, people will want to follow you. You will hear people say that you are selling a specific opportunity, which you aren't, you are selling yourself. The quicker you become good at selling yourself, the quicker you will find success on the internet. Programs may come and go but you will always be around.
You are your own biggest asset, make sure to utilize it.

Young Internet Tycoon On Walking The Walk
Are you the type of person that always does what they say they are going to do? Believe it or not it really isn't easy to actually do everything you say you are going to do. Successful business people always accomplish what they set out to do and the unsuccessful ones just talk about doing things. For me personally, this topic strikes me hard because there are many times when I have talked a big game in the past and come up empty.
Now dwelling on those things does me no good but I can learn from them. If you set goals and stick to accomplishing them then most likely what you talk about gets done. No matter how small the feat, if you say you are going to do it and you finish it, pat yourself on the back. Seems like we don't do that to ourselves enough. We tend to minimize our accomplishments and magnify our defeats.
As with any problem it is good to tackle it in small ways. If you have been saying that you will call 100 prospects a day and only get around to calling 10, you might be placing the bar so high you will never reach it. If you say what you mean and are honest with yourself you will in turn feel better. If you say you will call 100 and call 10 you feel bad about yourself. Instead if you tell people you will call 15 today and you call 20 you will feel much better.
Your ultimate goal may be 100, but if you haven't done more than 10 before that is unrealistic to expect it to happen over night. But if everyday you say you will call one extra person than you did the day before, in no time you will be up at 100.
Your prospects and peers will respect you more if you accomplish things you tell them you are going to do. It's not about what you say, it's about what you do. It is vital to your success to come through when you say you will so people rely and trust you. Even the smallest things can build valuable trust in another person.
Many athletes say talk is cheap, unless you can back it up. If you have no substance in what you say, people will eventually stop listening to you. You can't be successful if people do not respect and trust you. So always make sure you can walk the walk, before you talk the walk.

Young Internet Tycoon On Perfection Procrastination
I am going to start this blog post telling you about one of my favorite video game series. The Gran Turismo series is an extremely popular racing game for Sony consoles. The first one came out on the original Playstation and the 5th one will come out on the Playstation 3. They are phenomenal games but they are also known for one other thing, taking a looooooong time to develop.
Polyphony Digital are absolute perfectionists. Their games usually contain hundreds of cars which are 100% accurately modeled. The new game is supposed to have over 1000 cars. They handle, look, and sound like their real life counterparts. Kazunori Yamauchi, director of the games and head of Polyphony Digital, loves cars and his games show that. That dedication is almost a fault because they say a game will come out on a date and it might not come out for another year or two.
I appreciate the work they put into the games but it is frustrating waiting for them to come out. They are the poster child for perfection procrastination. If you look at everything you do and wait until it is perfect to finish it, you are wasting time. Other things that need to get done get pushed back when a project which should have been completed still lingers.
The difference between Polyphony and us as entrepreneurs is that Sony pays them huge money to develop the games. It gets pushed back but Sony still pays them because they know the reward will come when it is released. As entrepreneurs we don't have that sort of luxury. If you do not act fast then your competitor will and all will be lost. If you are standing still you are actually moving backwards.
Being a perfection procrastinator can be a very dangerous thing. Many people might not think they are one because unlike what people normally think of procrastinators, they usually work diligently. Next time you are righting a blog post or creating an ad make sure to get it done as quickly as you can. Of course you do no want to release unfinished products or rush jobs, but at the same time you don't need to channel Robert Frost to write an ad.

Young Internet Tycoon On Time Wasted
There are many things in life that you can get back one you have lost, time is definitely not one of those things. Always seems like we don't have enough time in our lives to get everything we want done. Then you have some people that seem to always have all the time in the world and get everything they want done. One thing that is extremely important when it comes to being successful anywhere in life is learning to make time work for you.
I won't get into the details about how to plan your day to be more effective with time management, I am gonna look at the bigger picture for the moment. Are you a person that focuses on the past? One problem many people fall into is focusing on what has already happened and letting that hold them back. Of course it is valuable to take a look back sometimes to see what you can learn from past experiences. Problem comes up when you focus on the past and feel bad about it. Staying hung up on the past and thinking about it constantly will undoubtedly help the past become the present again.
You also have the scenario where people focus on the future. They think about how great things could be in the future and are constantly day dreaming about how great their life would be if they had this or did that. The problem with this approach is that just dreaming will not get you anywhere unless you put a plan in place. I have fallen victim to this at times and it is hard to break the habit but it must be done. You cannot move forward when you are looking too far ahead all the time.
As is with almost anything in life balance is important. Learning from mistakes and knowing where you want to go in life are valuable, only if you apply them to your present time. Instead of dreams have goals with time limits to accomplish them. That makes you feel like you are working toward something. Never forget the past because if an obstacle comes up that you already tackled you know how to get around it. Looking too much in the future or in the past and you wind up missing life passing right in front of you.
You don't want that because time is something you can never get back.

Young Internet Tycoon On Daily Improvements
Many of us find ourselves on occasion stuck in a rut. There can be many reasons for this but how exactly do we get out of it. When running a home business it takes a lot of effort and time to become successful. Usually that means you need to see constant improvement from day to day to ultimately be truly successful.
Now that sounds like a daunting task but if you work little by little it isn't so hard. Just think of it this way. Try to improve yourself 1% more each day. When you think of it that way it doesn't sound like so much now does it? That may mean to post one more free online ad today or call one more prospect. I am sure you are thinking to yourself right now that doesn't seem like too much.
When you really wrap your head around this concept though it is immensely powerful. If you do this correctly in less than a month you will be doing 25% more work than you were doing earlier that month. It is constant improvement and is a key to being successful. As long as you keep moving forward, no matter how small the steps, that is improvement. One thing is for sure you don't want to stay stagnant or step backwards in life. Keep the forward momentum going, no matter how small, and you will see the difference.
Go out and try this method. I can assure you if you know where you need to be going and take steps to get there everyday, you will make it. The key is also to know where you are going and how to get there. As long as you have a detailed blueprint of success then success is inevitable isn't it? But it won't be unless you work towards and always move forward towards it. Success doesn't happen for the people who just stand around.

Young Internet Tycoon On The Fear We Face As Entrepreneurs
Today is actually the ten year anniversary of when the Sega Dreamcast launched. I am sure you are asking yourself right now what this has to do with fear and being an entrepreneur? The Dreamcast was a video game system that launched on 9-9-99. The system had everything it needed to be successful. It had great games and lots of innovations that were revolutionary for their time. Regardless of all this it was a big failure.
I am sure you are wondering given all of this why it was a failure? Within 2 years they discontinued the console for one reason, FEAR. Sega being a Japanese company was not happy with the success in Japan even though it was successful in the United States. To this day many loyal fans wonder why they discontinued it when they were about to hit their stride.
They were simply afraid of what was to come. They were on the cusp of greatness and they just flat out gave up. Does that sound familiar to you? So many people join online businesses with the thought of becoming successful entreprenuers. They buy e-books and other trainings and do nothing with them. They have everything they need to be successful but they don't do it, they give up.
Fear is a powerful thing and deters many people from actually getting the life they want. Uncertainty can be very unsettling, which is why people stay within their comfort zone. This happens to everyone at some point, even big companies, which is why to be a successful entreprenuer you need to overcome fear.
You have everything you need to be successful. Guidance is helpful so that way you know you are headed in the right direction, but as long as you have the desire and dedication you can make anything happen. Just like the Dreamcast, everyone has inside of them all the tools that are needed to succeed. What kind of fears are holding you down from accomplishing your goals?
While everyone else who has fond memories of the Dreamcast wonders today what could have been, this serves as a reminder to me what fear can do to you. As entrepreneurs we need to develop a way to combat fear and not let it control our lives. If you don't do this, fear is just as restricting as relying on someone else for your income.
