Young Internet Tycoon On Self Confidence


So the past couple posts I have spoken about not wasting time.  So lets say you take all my advice and are working hard and diligently.  Now becoming a young internet tycoon isn't easy.  You can work as hard as you want and still come up short.  What good is a lead if when you call them you never close a deal?  Many people will tell you it is a numbers game, and it is, but at the same time you shouldn't be talking to 500 people and not getting even one yes.

This boils down to self confidence.  Believe it or not, those prospects you call on the phone can feel you on the other end.  If your voice breaks up and you sound nervous, they will not join with you.  Especially since they could very easily go and find someone else in your opportunity to join with.  You are selling yourself online and you need to be confident because of that. 

Now how do you gain that confidence?  That's a tough question to answer.  Everyone is different, but receiving training on how to speak to people is essential.  If you can find a program with interact prospecting practice with leaders that would be great.  Just listening to people prospect won't be enough, you have to interact yourself.  The more you are on the phone working your skills, the better they will improve. 


I know for me personally this is the hardest thing for me to do.  Getting out of the comfort zone is the only way I will succeed though, so I have no choice.  I can remember the first times I prospected and how nervous I was.  I had a script and I read off of it verbatim.  That was not a good script and my results showed.  It is good to have guidelines in order to keep yourself on track, but at the same time you want to have a conversation with the person.

A confident person will be able to find out what the other person needs.  They aren't attached to the sale and know they are there to help the prospect, not the other way around.  If you control the conversation and have power throughout, people will want to follow you.  You will hear people say that you are selling a specific opportunity, which you aren't, you are selling yourself.  The quicker you become good at selling yourself, the quicker you will find success on the internet.  Programs may come and go but you will always be around.

You are your own biggest asset, make sure to utilize it.
